Okay, here’s the part about Prom that makes every guy nervous:
Dealing with Dad.
Look, in between the pictures and all of that stuff, he’s going to pull you aside and get weird and serious about what’s going on. Some of those guys can be intense.
But here’s a little tip to win Dad over:
Look around the living room for the one thing that doesn’t belong.
Maybe it’s a wooden ship.
Maybe it’s bulldog statue.
Maybe it’s an old-timey musket.
Maybe it’s a painting of history.
But there’s something there that doesn’t belong.
Find that thing and compliment it.
If he’s anything like my dad, he’s fought some major battles to keep that thing in there and he appreciates the support.
